My First Sock Monkey

My little monkey's first birthday is coming up soon and I have been wanting to make him his own little sock monkey. I was intimidated by the idea until I came across a fabulous tutorial over at Craftbits. I won't give any instructions here because I couldn't do any better than they already did.
I made a test monkey for my daughter and I'm going to make one more test monkey in green for my oldest son before I make Philly's birthday monkey.

Here is our little friend before stuffing and sewing.

Here she is after! We named her Measles, which later got changed to Belle.

What a happy little monkey!

I love that the heel of the sock gives the monkey a bubble butt. Teeheehee.

Samantha with her new friend just in time to keep her company while she is sick.

And here is Belle with her new brother!

I found these cute socks in the impulse bin at Michael's for $.50. If you're lucky maybe they will be at your store, too.

Happy crafting!

  13. (Not to mention the glasses were small too about 8 oz.) For $50, I can basically buy a large bottle of top shelf gin. The other drinks served to our party ranged from weak to average, but the overall lack of alcohol precludes a higher rating of this place. Service was decent.
